Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jul 17, 2005 Bottle at LaVelle’s Bistro, Fairbanks AK. Yellow with no activity but a soapy head. Also brought a musty soapy character with a bitter sappy twitch. Wrong texture and wrong balance. Cookie dough aroma. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 1, 2004 Updated: Feb 19, 2005(12 oz bottle) Moderately flavorful pilsener, lightly malty, but with moderately bitter hops for a zesty, crisp, spicy beer. The hops becomes dominant in the finish for a nice hoppy bite. Clean, crisp palate, light to medium bodied. Lightly hoppy nose shows some cardboard. Medium yellow color, but fully clear to let the small carbonation bubbles to rise with clear visibility. Whitish head has average retention, gradually fading to a thin film. Overall, a pretty average American pilsner. Aubrey (2625), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2004 Yellow-gold with a thin haze; great head -- white with tightly packed bubbles. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel up front; at times it turned a little thin, though. Some beery notes. Malts were light and grainy. Big hop bitterness in the finish ... mostly herbal in nature. Aftertaste was wet with a flowery bitterness. Not too bad. BeerandBlues2 (2623), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 13, 2006 Draught. Pours clear light yellow with a small white creamy head, diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, cereal, roasted, meal), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of cooked cabbage and corn. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. Light bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation and bitter finish. aracauna (2250), Georgia, USA Jun 25, 2005 This was actually pretty tasty, and I wasn’t expecting much. It could have used more hops in the aroma and flavor, but it was surprisingly malty. It was still a full gold in color with a full, lasting head, but had a richer malt than the usual pils. Slightly grassy hop finish. Excellent, lager that actually satisfies.
