Deep amber and copper coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel and pit fruits, a little malt and a bunch of metal and grapes - interesting. Light-bodied; Sharp malty and lightly nutty flavour at first with a lingering metallic note and some very mild hop flavours near the end. Aftertaste shows some cardboard maltiness, a touch of grapes and a little pit fruit flavours. Overall, an okay beer and interesting for the style - a lot of malt present and a good bit of caramel and metal coming together for the flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 26-June-2010 sampled at home before leaving for Hawaii on 03-March-2011 in Washington.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured quite a dark amber with a small, off-white head. Notes of light malt and cereal/biscuit. Quite a sweet malt presence in the body and across the back of the palate as you swallow. I surprisingly heavy body to it with a medium sweetness. Fizzy carbonation and a long finish produce an overall mediocre beer. Feels a little too heavy to be a lager, but so it is. Iím devoted to the brewery because I adore the Fairbanks area. Try this beer if you can but it is not your typical lager.

Very dark for a Vienna. Taste is pleasant, but dryish lager aftertaste. Rated 8/13/02

12oz bottle brought back from La Boddega. Pours a clear bright golden amber with a small tight head. Sweet honey and caramel malt, crisp grass with light cracker on the back. Taste is as the nose suggests...light honey, cracker malt and grassy hops...however, there is this unpleasant skunkiness on the end that isnít working for me. Too bad, other wise a decent little lager.
