Commercial Description:
Rich and complex, with notes of roasted coffee, chocolate, and caramel. We've made this year's winter seasonal brew with more oats and flaked barley than the previous year's brew, be have continued to use East Kent Goldings hops as the only hop in this unique beer. Our Sourdough Stout has a bit more body than some other oatmeal stouts, but you need that when it's 40 below zero outside! Limited availability in draft & bottles in winter.

Hmm. Disappointing. I’ve said my peace about SG. I wish Fairbanks had a more consistent brewer. This wasn’t a memorable Stout. Watery. Medium flavor. Definately NOT a sweet stout.

On tap at the 2003 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Black beer with a dark beige head and a coffee nose. Roast coffee bitterness with a strong hop finish and a smooth oatmeal mouthfeel.
