Funky, cheesy aroma. A deep amber pour with beige head. Sweet caramel malt flavor mixes with a biting bitterness but no real hop flavor. Light - medium bodied. An interesting IPA but seems average.

22. Pours a murky burnished dark amber. Loose whitish head after a good early surge. Not much lace. Tropical fruit nose, some mango and pineapple in there with some grapefruit. Creamy medium body, lively carb. Caramel, mango, and grapefruit mid palate mild resinous finish. A pleasing and easily drinkable IPA.

Bottle:   Dark amber, slight haze, large foamy off-white head, nice lacing.   Pale hop nose, very minor citrus sweetness.   Tastes like a ... Pale Ale.   Very minor hop flavor.   Has a powdered sugar candy like tinge.   Falls flat on the backside.   Smells decent, starts okay, but quickly falls off the map.   Body and mouthfeel are nearing the thing side.   Finishes... well very light.   Knock Knock... who’s there... not an IPA!

14-Mar-10 (22-oz bottle: Shared by SDbruboy, thanks Cliff!) This fairly typical Pacific Northwest IPA offers a base of standard pale ale maltiness, some toastiness, and moderate sweetness. Hops are medium bitter, with flavors of orange and red grapefruit, pine, and earth, finishing with a dose of sweet tea with orange slices. The nose balanced forest floor, pine, and orange citrus from hops with sweet, grainy malts, but also some vegetal and cheesy aromas in the background too. The beer is medium in body, clean and crisp on the palate, and moderately carbonated. The body is hazy amber in color, and the half-inch of off-white head settles to a thin, but complete layer, leaving some spotty lace. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a well-made, pleasant, quaffable IPA.

Piney aroma, not much floral hops. Flavor is a little thin. It went well with fresh spring rolls!

Solid IPA with good hop flavors, aromas and bitterness. Nothing "in your face," like many IPAs out there; it’s just a decent, pleasantly hoppy IPA. Hops are grassy, citrusy and a little piney. Mild-to-moderate bitterness. Has a malt side, too, with hints of caramel, toffee and cocoa powder. Easy to drink as well.

Citrus hop aroma with some maltiness. Pours a slightly cloudy orange-golden with mid range head. Understated hops and light body. Nonetheless, refreshing and satisfying. I would call this a "session" IPA.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Orange amber, generous off-white head, some early sticky lace. Aroma is orange peel and light pine. Sweet malt, nice orangey hop character, again light pine, nice bitter finish. I’m not sure why this is rated low for the style. I really thought it was a solid IPA.

Floral, earthy, and soft fruity hop notes on top of doughy caramel malt. Nice soft nose. Pleasant and fresh. Pours orange amber with a great sticky lace and some lasting foam up top too. The flavor is very balanced and drinkable. Floral earthy hops, a touch of pepper and some citrus skins as well as doughy malt and some drier biscuit notes as well. Medium peppery dry finish. Very drinkable and well done for such a soft IPA.

Not tongue crushing bitter - so if you get an old bottle, I can see it not being good. But this was a fresh one, and as a result there were some terrific aromatics in it! Very crisp on the palate and floral in the nose. Lots of grass, hay and seed notes. Finishes clean.
