Bottle:   Amber, slight haze, light carbonation, sand colored head, frothy, nice lacing.   Slight
fruity nose, peach or apricot fuzz.   Also getting some sort of spice in there.   I have had this bottle
for a while, so its "aged" a bit.   Its almost like a nutmeg/cinnamon caramel, but really funky and musty.
On the tongue it somewhat reminds me of a watered down unsweetened stale cold Spiced Apple cider.   Not
real malty, unfortunately.   Seems fairly clean, but also fairly simple.   Moderate body and mouthfeel,
perhaps a little on the thin side.   Could use more malt backing thats for sure.   Seems pretty simple
overall.   Needs more malt would be my recommendation.   Hops are very light, which is fine.   Pretty
ho-hum...

On tap at the brewery. Very nice malt aroma and good, clear color with full off-white head. The malt and hops balance nicely here.

Amber in color, slight haze with a thin head. Hops where floral in both aroma and flavor. Malt was roasty and balanced well with the hops this was a nice brew.

22oz bottle, purchased at Harry & David’s Medford. Pours a deep amber color with a cola tinge; effervescent; mixed-bubbled, light-tan head with solid retention and lacing; decent pour. There’s a slight celery / stalky vegetal note in the aroma that kind of throws things off here; minimal hop aroma; there’s a mild dishwater / lemony component present as well; very lackluster nose. Medium-light body; lively, almost fizzy carbonation (like it’s flying out of this beer); that celery / vegetal note seems to play out more obviously as acetaldehyde in the mouth: an immediate green apple note first and foremost; some moderate mineral and potentially lime-like bitterness (probably influenced by the acetaldehyde); balanced overall, and there really isn’t a whole lot of "beer" flavor here, sadly; that green apple / acetaldehyde component really does serve to dominate pretty much everything here; still, quite drinkable, and I’m guessing most folks would drink this without thinking "hey, brewing flaws". A tea-like note at the core shows eventually. This is almost all acetaldehyde, honestly, but not especially offensive in spite of this. Medium finish: mineral bitterness, the lingering green apple character; modestly dry and decently balanced.

Pours hazy copper with a four finger beige head. Aroma of apricot over mild caramel. Medium body; foamy carbonation. Flavor is sort of apricot, light stone fruit. Not very bitter. Not very sweet. More refreshing than most ambers.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - SEP 27, 2009
From a 22 oz bottle purchased at the Market of Choice in Eugene, Oregon this poured a a clear amber with moderate off-white head. The lacing was average. There a very malty nose and with light floral hops aromas. Medium mouthfeel. Caramel malt flavors dominate and the finish is somewhat sweet. OK for the style.

Was enjoying the free pool too much to take real tasting notes. Thin with caramel notes, some corn and slight sour funk.
