Aroma: light apple and raisin.
Appearance: large, rocky, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Dark-brown body.
Taste: lightly acidic, raisin, apple initial flavor and lightly bitter, roasty finish with average duration.
Palate: medium body with dry texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: nice roasty finish, but I didn’t care for the apple raisin taste.

Dark brown ale. Off white head lasts an hour plus. Sharp roasty nose. Sharper roasty flavor with a mellow middle amd milky finish. Not my rav. Want porters to be smoother, less roast and more cocoa.

Tap at Silver Moon. Someone needs a graphic designer. Pours a deep brown with healthy foam. Nose is coffee, savory, hazelnut. Taste has a harsh coffee bite, soap, chemical, hydrogen peroxide. Papery palate. Huh.

Black pour with a brown head. The aroma is very full of milk chocolate with some lactose notes. The flavor is a mix of bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(22oz bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and graham cracker. Flavor of dry cocoa, roasted malt, and coffee.

Sample at the brewpub. Brownish-black pour with a medium tan head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle:   Pours like a stout, very black, moderate frothy/sudsy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Soft apple/pear skin up front, roasty, with some graham cracker notes.   This is starting to smell like an aged Imperial
Stout.   Not as heavy on the tongue as I would have guessed.   Soft roastiness, a little tart, some chocolate and coffee like notes, but not terribly big.   Very smooth and easy going, this "Robust Porter" I aged for two
years or so.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, surprisingly the backside seems to kind of fall off quickly.   A little ash, graham cracker, and sweet milky roasted malts linger.   Probably over the hill, but it seems to have
held up well.   Has a slight dank basement like component well after the finish, a bit musty.   Not too bright now, but I imagine it had more bite when fresh.   Still enjoyable after these few years tho.

22oz Bottle. The pour was pitch black with a huge (3-4 finger) cocoa brown fluffy head that slowly receded, down to a thick foamy medium cap which produced some good runny lacing.
The aroma was of burnt dark bread malts, a mild resin hop and a bold leathery yeast with notes of baker’s chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a light smoky presence.
The taste was extremely malty and very roasty with a huge bitter chocolate note which was present throughout, and then became slightly bitterer with a mild coffee taste and a hint of smoke towards the finish. The flavor lasted an average time following the swallow, with a roasty bitter mocha coffee taste hitting you right in the back of the throat, and then lingered there for a just little while longer.
Mouthfeel was medium in body with a thin oily texture and a carbonation that was ever so soft.
Overall I found this to be an extremely chocolaty brew with a nice bold bitter roastiness, which just so happened to create a superbly delicious drinking experience... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Black. tan head. Aroma is very low, with a little roast. Flavor is grainy and roasty with hints of licorice and a little toffee sweetness. Finishes fairly dry.

Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this one at the end of the tasting. Pours fairly dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has cocoa, cream, mild roast, soda effervescence and vanilla - very smooth. It has a medium / light body with mild carbonation. The flavor starts with dry cocoa, roastiness, some paper, dry maltiness and a mild amount of coffee. The finish is nice and dry with cocoa and spice. Nice session porter.
