Lubiere (3408), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 A dark clear brown porter with a thin white head. A woody chocolate aroma. In mouth, a good chalky chocolate malt with herbal notes, cold coffee. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.
BuckeyeBoy (1209), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 4, 2007 Updated: Sep 11, 2008On tap at Silver Peak Reno, NV Pours out a dark brown topped with a light tan head. A little roast malt and some coffee on this one. It was pretty light for a Porter. JohnnyJ (717), Oceanside, California, USA Oct 11, 2006 Poured a dark drown/red. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, fruit (cherry), roasted malt, and some hops. Thin lager mouthfeel, pretty common for the brewery. BückDich (4603), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 13, 2005 Sampled draught at the Taproom
Dark mahogany, off-white creamy head. Light roast and chocolate in the nose. Some light fruity hop notes along with the moderate maltiness. Body is clean with a lagerish mouthfeel. You could call this a schwarz and not get funny looks. 0o9i (272), Reno, Nevada, USA Jun 2, 2005 On tap @ brewery. Opaque in glass, very dark walnut colored liquid--filtered clear--as seen when the glass is low and along the edges. Thin, offwhite head. Medium to light body, coarse carbonation and lightly dry. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, yeast like dough--sour and chocolatey. Smells awesome. Flavor is malty--chocolate, molasses--yeast of sweet dough--roasty chocolate//bread and light grains on the finish. As the beer warms, something else comes up in the finish..quite strongly. An acidic, alcoholic finish, reminiscent of cheap vodka and rum--the stuff in the plastic bottles. I let it warm because of how dark it is, but didn’t want to finish it after because of this awful aftertaste. Noticably alcoholic. Likely around 6-8%.
