2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (8335) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 26, 2008
A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In mouth, a buttery red ale, with cloying notes of diacetyl. Same in aroma. Not my style. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.

On tap @ Silver Peak poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of light carmel and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel and fruitiness with a crisp lightly bitter finish.

A sweet caramel aroma. Quite nice. Caramel comes through in all stages of this. A pleasant sweet-hop finish. One of their betters in this 11-sampler!!

On tap with amber pour. Pretty sweet with some fruit and a basic amber taste. Pretty standard amber that hides the alcohol well.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BückDich (5466) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 20, 2004
Ruby hue, plenty of carbonation & lacing. Aroma of caramel, apparent alcohol & hoppy toasted notes. Flavor is sharp with carbonation but has a dry bitterness & tasty sweetness throughout. The tail is smooth, balanced. Moderately hoppy strong ale. Good but not exceptional.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 0o9i (436) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 22, 2004
On tap @ brewery, growler, etc. I’ve had this on many occasions. Amber color, nice head, poor lacing. Aroma is yeasty like a homebrew, some alcohol and malts. Flavor is unbalanced and fairly strong with noticable alcoholic flavor, big malts and little else. Medium bodied. This beer has never impressed me, although it is popular...but so is Bud Light.

Nothing outstanding here, hides the alcohol well though and is easy drinking.

This beer is exactly what I would expect a "red" beer from a brewpub to taste like. Just too syruppy and sweet. Overall, it was boring and unoriginal.
