Nice dark stout with big head. Big roasted grain aroma and flavor. Not a burnt grain flavor, just toasted so not too overwhelming. But a big grain flavor nonetheless. Very silky smooth mouthfeel. Superb.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bb (5888) - Alamo, California, USA - FEB 13, 2006
Draft. Mahogony color with a light beige head. Big roasted malt aroma. Nice chocolate and roast flavor with just a bit of oatmeal coming through to smooth it out. Medium bodied, though doesn’t match up with the aroma and flavor.

Had on tap at the brewpub in St. Helena. Excellent brewpub stour. Dark black pour with a frothy, mocha colored head, good thick lacing. Creamy mouthfeel with good lacticity. Coffee, bittersweet chocolate - it’s all there. thick creamy mouthfeel. My wife’s choice for a pint from the sampler.

Dark brown. Creamy head. Very subtle roasted malt aroma. Fairly thin bodied. Some roasted flavor. Slightly funky yeastiness. Somewhat grainy. Not the mouthfeel I’d expect from an Oatmeal Stout.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 joet (1919) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - JAN 29, 2002
A mite of big bubbled foam and nothign else, some toffee flavors, a very light medium body, some sweet honey lick of a finish, wet center, very clean. This is a light but not gossamer stout. The presentation and feel could use some serious improvement.
