Aroma: dry roast , clean with decent roast , some balk tea. Tad too estery for lager. 6+
Apperance: dark brownish-black. Lighter white top. Rather flat looking. 3-
Taste/Palate etc. Medium bodied. Strong coffee like roast feel , semi dry. Softer follow-up. There is some of Schwartz in this beer , yet tad to soft on sides with its creamy walls.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Tessic (746) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 15, 2013
This lager poured a deep black colour with a short living, tan colour head. To the nose there are scents of molassass, burnt malts, earth and a little chocolate and coffee. First sip was roasty and delicious with flavours of roasty malts, coffee and very light hint of cocoa. Finish is burnt and flavourful.

Surprised that this was a lagered beer. Pours dark and smells toasty. Taste had some smoky bite to it.

A light roasty aroma, nice opaque appearance. The beer has a slight metallic flavor to it, to go with the roast and the traces of coffee. The finish is also not quite right. Looks and smells much better than it tastes. Still, thanks to the wifey for bringing this back from her vacation.

[4623-20120727] Tap. Smoked nutty coffee grounds aroma. Black body has a red hue with a quick foamy light brown head. Tart coffee roasted nut malt flavour. Full body. Interesting but a little heavy on the roast. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

The beer was poured a solid blackish-brown with a creamy light brown head which shrank to a ring. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, and some sweet notes. Not as dry and bitter as a Kostritzer, and quite tasty.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 11, 2012
Cask at Cask Days 2012. Twenty-seventh beer of the fest. Pours a very dark brown with red hues and an average size bubbly tan head. Malty aroma, lightly roasted, along with light hops and hints of vanilla and chocolate. Nice chocolaty flavour, also lightly roasted -- simple but pleasant. Average bodied. Really good.

Tap, pours a nice black, aroma is light roasty, flavour at first seemed minimal but I as I worked through the pint it became smooth and very drinkable with a really nice back bone of a roasty brew. I got a nice flavourful beer. Decent offering
