2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sevenlee (886) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAY 22, 2012
Pours a very light and slightly cloudy yellow with a very short lived white head. Aroma is some wheat, hay and citrus. Taste is also slightly wheaty with some hay leading to a dry and very slightly bitter finish. A little watery. Ok
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MrHangover (1101) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Bottle. Poured into original Simon Dinkel glass, wich looks like a weizenglass. Pours out hazy yellow with a firm, creamy white head on top. Yeasty aroma, little malt presence. Flavour is bitter with with grainy and fruity notes in the beginning and the finish. Finishes dry. Nice find from Luxembourg..
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BlackHaddock (2362) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2012
Brown 33cl bottle (4.5% ABV), best before 8th May 2010, drank and reviewed 6th Apr 2010. Poured into a Duvel glass.
Very pale gold/yellow, with a slight haze within, the head was a pure white colour and well formed.
The smell was wheat and barley along with a mini yeast ester.
The taste wasn’t like a normal Euro lager, this had some flavours of grains and cereals, pleasant stuff.
This is the last of my Simon beer samples given to me by a Luxembourg based Brit, cheers Marcus.
Full bodied and intereting for this style (not sure what style it is to be honest). Anyway, well worth trying to find if in and around Luxembourg, which is more than can be said for most of the beers from this country.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Grima (1863) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 16, 2012
Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Das Bier schaut extrem hell und trüb im Glas aus. Der Geschmack is leicht süßlich, würzig und etwas malzig.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Eructoblaster (2446) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 10, 2011
Bottle - 330ml. Hazy blond body with a thin white foamy/creamy head. Thin malty/hoppy aroma with light yeasty and citrusy hints. Taste is slightly dominated by maltiness. It carries herbal and yeasty notes, and ends with a short bitter/grainy finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kristall-König (1843) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - SEP 9, 2011
Im Geruch hopfig und ein wenig brotig-muffig anmutend. Im Antrunk durchaus herb. Würziger Fluß durch die Mitte. Würzig-bitterer Abgang.
Solides Bier.
Danke an Grima für dieses Bier!Test vom 8.5.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Frovigalning (2024) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JUN 27, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2011 On tap at Go Ten Café in Luxembourg. It poured a watery and foggy yellow liquid with a small white head. A very light beer in all ways possible, light taste and light body. Just a bit of fruitiness. However lean and easy to drink. But made me think of carbonated water, so the score is low because of it.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Koelschtrinker (8485) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 7, 2011
Herber Antrunk, deutlich prickelnd. OK. 8/9/8/7/7/7
