(bottle, received by trade from Saarlander - thanks !) Clear, ruby amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with strong notes of caramel and liquorice. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, nutty and slightly grainy taste with caramel and faint fruity notes of dried fruits; sweet, slightly sugary finish with a whiff of bitterness.

Bottle. [Thanks to Shig]. Unclear medium brown with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, pea. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. To malty to my flavour. (161207)

Bottle. Reddish brown colour, all clear, but the head is quickly gone. Very nice nutty aroma with a touch of raisins. Nuts and raisins flavours ending up a bit on the the sweet side. Quite flat. This is a bock that wants well, but could do with a bit more aggressiveness as far as dry, nutty flavours go.

Bottled (BB 10/2008)
Nut brown color, small off-white head. Brown sugary aroma, slightly malty. Dry malty flavor, burnt notes, dry harsh aftertaste with some alcohol in it. Unbalanced, a bit similar to some stronger Finnish Christmas Viennas.

A Mes rate: 33cl bottle at Kerstfest, Essen, thanks to Pat.
Attractive clean dark mahogany colour with a slim but fairly solid bubbly head. Overpowering malty aroma and flavour with some heavy cardboard. Slight spice and caramel. Sickly and almost unpleasant.
