It’s a clean pils, many years ago it was sometimes of uneven quality, but these days are log gone, When presented with a choice in a bar, Simon Pils is still the best luxemburgish pils, no more no less.

McWorta (922) - LUXEMBOURG - OCT 12, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2014 Offers a bright clear yellow colour with some CO2 action. Light white fading head. On the noses aromas of straw, hops and some grain/barnyard develop. Good sparkling action on the palate fading into fizzyness offering a watery texture. Light-medium body with a light sweet and bitter taste. The finish is a bit bitter and lingers only for a brief moment.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, jäst med örtiga och gräsiga toner. Lagom söt. En varken bra eller dålig pilsner. Trevlig beska.

Golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall head. Aroma of pale malt, very light hops, alcohol and a hint of fruity sugars. Light-bodied; Nice well-rounded flavour of hops and malt with no sign of bitterness or metallic notes with some nice soft fruit-based sweetness from apples and lemons. Aftertaste shows a light malt with some hops, earth and a hint of the lemon freshness noticeable earlier. Overall, much better than expected with some light fresh notes and nothing bitter or offensive at all. I sampled this 33 cL METAL bottle purchased from Alima Supermarche in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg on 17-August-2013 for €1,05 sampled in my hotel room here in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg on 18-August-2013.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with airy white head. Clear, sweetish aroma of yeast, hops and grass. Bitter, hoppy flavour with grainy notes and a touch of yeast. Mildly sweet aftertaste. Not bad, just average.
