3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Arome de chocolat et de café, très représentatif du style. Robe brune, presque noire, très opaque. Bien velouté en bouche avec un goût qui rapelle les saveurs de l’arome. (chocolat, café, pain brulé). Autre création honorable de Simple Malt.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of chocolate covered espresso beans, toasted nuts and lightly roasted malt. Flavour is quite metallic at first, with notes of peat / smoke coming in later. The chocolate notes are absent, as well as any hint of sweetness. Some bitter espresso notes (like it’s gone bad) as well. Not quite offensive, but not pleasant either. The nose is much nicer than the taste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with my cousin toffsbury. Perfect-looking pour. Smell is nice; sweet, roasty, and vanilla. I get some of that in the taste, but I also get some metallic notes and a distinct bitter dryness in the finish. Nice full body. Good, but not the best imperial stout.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is roasty and a little bit sweet, a bit of mocha and a hint of vanilla. Gorgeous black pour with a thick caramel head that recedes relatively quickly but doesn’t go away. Quite bitter from the mass of roasted barley, and a bit of metal tang. Lots of coffee flavour. Overall a pretty dry stout. Thick body, though not as thick as you’d expect, and not very alcoholic. Very tasty.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours jet black with a dark, tan head. On the nose is lactose, hot chocolate, coffee crisp, brownies, and a hint of dark fruit. Mouth feel is medium-thin and slightly chewy with medium to low carbonation. The taste is extremely rich and chocolatey: starts out as milk chocolate then bitters to roasted malts and dark chocolate with hazelnut, dark fruit and molasses. Finish is long and toasty with roasted malts, nuts, and dark chocolate. Very nice stout dominated by chocolate flavours.
