Bottle at cgarvieuk’s Danish Invasion tasting. Nice vivid dark red pour, very thin head fades to almost nothing. nice rich nose, slightly treacle-y, raisins, big thick fruitiness and a very slight smokey tang. Sweet front with a more pronounced peatiness, again big raisin notes and a definite earthy hop character on the finish. hides alcohol well. Smells awesome, tastes ok.

Corps moyen.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 VT (796) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 21, 2012
341 ml bottle. Pours a deep dark red, almost brown, almost no head at all. Smells malty, chocolate-caramel. Taste is quite sweet, caramel, a hint of pepper with a slight bitterness and burnt/ash taste in the finish. Body is very thick with a sticky texture. Not the best scotch ale I’ve had lately, but still very enjoyable!
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rejtable (810) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2012
Pours a solid brown with minimal head. Up front pretty much all sweet... butterscotch, caramel maybe even maple. Medium carbonation, pretty light in the mouth. Ok, not my favourite style.
