Thanks to the Tampa crew for sharing this one. Pours clear cola brown with a white head. Nose is syrup, brown sugar, nice malt sweetness, and a bit of caramel. Flavor is similar with a great sweetness all around. Good wee heavy.

A dark amber mahoganny ale with a thin light moka head. In aroma, loads of fruity esters over caramelized burned sugar, and light cinnamon notes. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with light toffee notes, a bit thin and grainy. On tap at St-Bock, Dec. 18 2010.

Bottle. Pours a dark bruin body with a tan head. Malty wooden a woody scotch like character. Dry caramel with a light chocolate malt accent. Sweet with hints of cracked pepper and oatmeal. Good stuff.

341 mL bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep copper with an orange-tan rim. Aroma: Rich, sweet malts, stewed dark dried fruits, a little boozy, brown sugar, molasses, a touch of licorice, some esters, pretty nice. Palate: Medium+ body, somewhat sparse effervescence with a few prickly bubbles. Flav.: Lots of sticky sweet malts, a bit more booze and a bit less fruity than the nose, brown sugar, the esters are lessened, a touch meaty/savoury, not quite as enjoyable as the nose, but still decent; sweet with a touch of bitterness and some warming alcohol, wrapped in a sweet, malty finish.

Decent.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 Bouteille 341 ml. 8.2%. Couleur brune très foncée avec reflets rougeâtre. Arôme de caramel et de malt grillé. En bouche, douce avec des notes de caramel, céréale sucrée...bien balancée. Finale sucrée et très douce. Très bonne Scotch Ale bien balancée.

341ml bottle from Peluso..
Appearance : Deep majhogany with small creamy head that is short lived.
Aroma : Sweet caramel with notes of raisins and red fruits.
Taste : Sweet and sugary. Some raisins and prunes. Finish is rather dry with sweet caramel and raisins.
Overall : Enjoyable sweetness on nose and tase. Quite rich. Nice dry finish. I like it much more than it’s old Bieropholie counterpart.

341 mL bottle from Dépanneur Simon Anthony in Montréal, served in a snifter. Pours clear reddish brown with a small tan head. The head fades quickly to a thin remnant but leaves a small amount of lace. On the nose, the aroma is sweet, with notes of caramel, brown sugar, raisins, chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol and herbs. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout, with a bit of alcohol poking through. The finish is malty but relatively short. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and slight carbonation. Overall, this is a nice scotch ale. The malts are well done, but could be a bit more complex. The mouthfeel could also be a bit thicker, but it is a very pleasant beer. 2010-09-10

Bottle, 8.2%. Vinous aroma, some vanilla. Clear dark brown colour, red shine. The flavour is sweet and vinous. A bit too sweet, I guess, but attempted balanced by the alcohol. Quite roasted flavour also, and roasted finish.
