Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Aaron! Dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of big whiskey, grain, vanilla, hints of oak, earth, slight caramel, toffee, hints of molasses, finishing earthy. Taste is a mix of sweet caramel, toffee, nice oak whiskey, earth and molasses, hints of vanilla, finishing fairly sweet, slightly oaky, dry. Pretty good actually.

Bouteille 1 litre.

Excellent digestif.

Bottle - 750ml. Dark copper body with low carbonation and a thin off-white foamy head. Strong malty aroma with hoppy, bourbon, and brown sugar hints. Alcohol is present but not too agressive. Its robust malty taste carries bourbon, vanilla, and oaky notes. Ends with a long, strong, warming bittersweet finish. Interesting.

7/13/13. 750mL thanks to mathieuc! Drank from the included glass! Rich amber red pour with a small khaki head. Booze, bourbon, and loads of caramel. Super sweet bourbon caramel vanilla taste with a touch of burnt toast. Super strong and sweet... would fit into a BA barleywine tasting.

Sample from a bottle at Saint Houblon. Flat copper pour, clear. Aroma is malty, a ton of barley candy, boozy, raisins, caramel. Taste is sweet, really malty, nice maltiness, warming alcohol finish. Palate is rich, full bodied.

Sample (1 oz) @ Saint-Houblon.

Appearance: Deep clear copper with no head and nice legs.

Aroma: Strong malty presence, booze, toasted notes, oak, vanilla, raisins and toffee.

Taste: Huge malty presence here again with medium to heavy sweetness that is balance rather well by the boozy presence. Oak, vanilla, toffee, raisins and light acidity.

Palate: Full bodied. Still. Liquorous mouthfeel. Strong warming (but not burning) presence. Long lasting toffee flavor.

Overall: Quite tasty, but 1oz was more than enough for me. It should definitely not be classified as a "Malt liquor" and it’s certainly higher in abv than the listed 11.9 %. Good sipper.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with no carbonation. Aroma of sweet caramelized malt notes with some toffee and light warming alcohol notes. Taste is a mix of residual sugar. Caramelized malt with some toffee notes. Some notes of molasses and cookie can also be detected. Body is quite full with some warming alcohol that can be detected. Definitely the type of beer that needs to be share amongst many people and overall I would say this is a positive experiment.
