Bottle from Alko Hakaniemi. This might be somewhat skewed as I thoroughly like this product. Pours dark brown, almost opaque. Low thick, and brown head reminiscent of chocolate stouts. Syrupy mouthfeel, malty, sweet with notes of liquorice. Surprisingly less complex than the standard Koff porter. Definitely an easy dessert beer. Herbal aftertaste with lingering hops. Interesting and modern Baltic porter. Very nice.

Bottle @ Syystober, 2013. Black color, tan head. Milk chocolate aroma. Full dark chocolate flavor with restrained coffee notes and oak. Full body, medium carbonation. Nice, surprisingly easy-going for the style.

Bottle as a gift from Espoo. BB 20.06.2015. Pours thick dark brown, appearing black in the glass with no light going through. Head is tan, thick, retains quite well and laces too... not for very long though. Nose is very modest initially... but then I get roasted malts and coffee, kinda sweet caramel and chocolate, with faint pissy-minty spiciness from the spruce sprouts. Taste is (kinda minty) chocolaty sweet and bitter of indistinct hops, slightly herbal, molasses, sourish black bread crust... Body good, carbonation lively, palate sticky and slightly syrupy, somewhat grainy too, finishing dry. Texture nearing smooth.

Had to wait for a long time for this to reveal itself, and even after waiting for an hour I still feel I’d like more from it... More of the spruce sprouts (extract), oh, and maple syrup, helloo? Overall it’s still quite a good Baltic Porter, although I find it to be less complex and fulfilling than Sinebrychoff’s original Baltic that I had before.

330ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. Slightly vinous aroma with notes of raisins, pine, plain chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Treacle, coffee, roasted malt and plain chocolate feature in the taste. Some slightly buttery and burnt notes (perhaps the maple syrup) can be detected in the finish. Not bad, but not a patch on the regular Koff Porter.

Black color, medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark berries, licorice, hint of smoke. Taste has similar notes - dry with light sweetness and roasty bitterness in finish and aftertaste. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nice porter.

Fine porter. A bit flat body and the taste is a bit dry. Disappointingly little aftertaste, but the flavors of coffee and some dark chocolate are greatly balanced and good.

Black with creamy coffee head. Aroma or roasted and slightly smokey malts. Flavour has the smokiness too and a background sweetness of forest fruits. Rich, thick texture.
