Bottle thanks to Santa! Pours opaque black with a medium brown head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice residual and decent lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate, roasty, some coffee, a bit of molasses and anise. Flavor follows, rich and creamy, medium sweet and light bitter, lots of chocolate, anise and molasses, hints of smoke. Fullish body, nice soft mouthfeel. Excellent.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Alko Hakaniemi.
This might be somewhat skewed as I thoroughly like this product.
Pours dark brown, almost opaque. Low thick, and brown head reminiscent of chocolate stouts.
Syrupy mouthfeel, malty, sweet with notes of liquorice. Surprisingly less complex than the standard Koff porter. Definitely an easy dessert beer. Herbal aftertaste with lingering hops.
Interesting and modern Baltic porter. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle as a gift from Espoo. BB 20.06.2015. Pours thick dark brown, appearing black in the glass with no light going through. Head is tan, thick, retains quite well and laces too... not for very long though. Nose is very modest initially... but then I get roasted malts and coffee, kinda sweet caramel and chocolate, with faint pissy-minty spiciness from the spruce sprouts. Taste is (kinda minty) chocolaty sweet and bitter of indistinct hops, slightly herbal, molasses, sourish black bread crust... Body good, carbonation lively, palate sticky and slightly syrupy, somewhat grainy too, finishing dry. Texture nearing smooth.
Had to wait for a long time for this to reveal itself, and even after waiting for an hour I still feel I’d like more from it... More of the spruce sprouts (extract), oh, and maple syrup, helloo? Overall it’s still quite a good Baltic Porter, although I find it to be less complex and fulfilling than Sinebrychoff’s original Baltic that I had before.
