Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Black colour, small brown head, which leaves a bunch of lace. Aroma is wood, some slight smoked wet wood, mild spices, some wood as well as some toffee. Flavour is roasted malts, quite spicy along with some toffee and ripe fruits. Mild wood and syrup as well. Quite much like Koff Porter with spruce and some syrupy notes. Quite thick feeling.

Bottle, at RBNG-14 Grand Tasting. An unclear, brown beer topped by a smell, dense, light beige head. It’s pretty meaty on the nose, with roasted malts, molasses and some coffee. Roasted, semi-dry on the palate, with chocolate notes and coffee. Molasses. Full body and a pleasant carbonation. Lasting roasted finish with some bonfire. Pretty pleasant this one. 140215

Bottled 330ml. Dark opaque brown color, good creamy brown head, lace. Toasted coffeish aroma with earthy barrel-like notes, which I quite strong. Some sweet dark syrup too. Medium-bodied. Koff Porter -like sweetish, roasted flavor. Soft and sweetish with burned, dark coffee notes in the aftertaste. Some hoppyness. Very nice.

Bottle shared at chriso’s - picked up in a trade. Pours clear brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds milk chocolate, soft roast, some dark fruits. Light-medium sweet flavor with toasted toffee, earth, chocolate, grainy bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, moderately roasty with dried dark fruits, berries, milk chocolate, well toasted bread. Very nice overall.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2013 330ml bottle (Syystober2013)
Jet black, a real cappuccino head - it even had the different colours, from dark tan to white in the froth. Aroma has a very nice dark oily roast, reminds me of ordinary Koff porter, but it’s so cold it’s not jumping out of the glass much, maybe 6 is stingy? As I say, cold, but this doesn’t feel as big as plain koff porter. Still has a full rich roast. I do like it. Very full palate, stays on the tongue in the finish. Hops are there, but they’re not as full as you would like, more extracty than coney. It’s good, I like it, I’d drink it again happily, but it’s not better than the classic, at least in its original form, before they hobbled it with adjuncts.
Rerate: 330ml bottle (Alko) - ditto, but has that richer aroma I like - oily and burnt, bumping to 7. TAstier too - coulld be worth a 15 overall for 3.8 perhaps?
