4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Slightly burned toast, dark fruits in the aroma. Opaque motor oil dark, with a lively caramel dark head. Surprisingly no lacing on the glass. Balanced sweet malt, hop bitterness, salt and even notes of slight sour. Some metallic notes. Texture is thick, oily and slick. Moderate carbonation. This is an enjoyable porter with lots of complex flavor to be enjoyed sip by sip. Very pleased although this bottle was $4.99 US would purchase again.

On tap at the Blue Monk with Patty, Dan and Kara. Black body, moderate sized medium brown head, spotty lacing. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, dark fruits, and earthy bitterness. Full to medium bodied, mellow carbonation, rich clean finish. A classic Baltic porter that shows off the style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
7.2% just 2.50 euros from Alko. A thick viscous pour and a thick luscious dark tan head. Kind of grassy aroma which doesnít impress me that much. The taste is way better! Smooth silly mouthfeel. Roast coffee & chocolate. Really good stuff & great value if you can find it. You donít taste the 7.2% at all. On second smell you do get some roasted malts but it is still s bit grainy. The taste remains wonderful, not super deep but satisfying. A go to porter if youíre ever in Finland.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Sinebrychoff Porter has a very thick, creamy, tan head and a dark brown, almost black, appearance, with thick lacing left behind. The aroma is of extremely rich, stinging malts, astringency, black cherries, licorice, black bread crust, and sour cream. The taste is of all those elements, with little bitterness and no alcohol showing up. Mouthfeel is thick and viscous, and Sinebrychoff Porter finishes dry, sweet, rich, and cake like. Overall, this is an outstanding imperial ale! RJT

The aroma is a strong roasty smell with chocolate that dominates. The color is black with a dark brown medium head. Cereal, chocolate, coffee and biscuit which is finely blended with a bit of bitterness. Excellent taste.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours pitch black with thick dark beige silky head. Aroma and taste brings to mind semi-sweet chocolate, lingering sweet bitterness on the palate. All around this is an excellent beer. Complex, smooth and drinkable.

Bottle from trade with rosenbergh, many thanks Jan
Finally I can drink famous Finnish Porter. Almost black colored beer with medium quickly dissappearing beige head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, dried fruits in aroma. Taste, roasted malt, dried berries, dark chocolate, coffee. Chocolatey finish. Dry and warming, although alcohol is dangerously hidden. Yummy.

[insert demented clown laugh] 33cl bottle - pours supa brown with a tone of brown head and great lacing. What the hell have stumbled upon from the clearance rack? Nose is of roasted toast and dark fruit. Flavor adds nuts, coffee grinds, and caramel. Awesome! so smooth, but yet full bodied. File under breakfast beer.
