Recommended by the bartender at the Old Bank, this is a fantastic Finnish porter. Not too heavy in any way, nice earthy/ mineral flavors. This was a smooth drinking and clean finishing beer. The end of the glass did not get too bitter. For a stronger beer, none of the alcohol comes through. Bottled version held up as well, easily just as good.

Bottle @ home. Pours dark red/brown with a brown large head and nice lacing. Sweet toffee aroma initially. Lots of coffee and figs, There’s leather and some dark chocolate, and more fruitiness apart from figs there are also notes of dry apple and dates, Tar and dry smoked wood , really appealing. Vinous notes appears as it gets warmer. Sweet and dry taste with a distinct earthy and dark chocolate like bitterness in the finish. Medium body and smooth soft carbonation. Taste has coffee, lots of it. Toffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, figs, tar and ash, notes of dry raisins, wood and vanilla. I really appreciated this one, it has a unique, well balanced and complex profile.

Nedtonad spritighet, rivig.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2014 Bottle. A decent porter though not as sweet and full bodied as most other porters I have had. Refreshingly bitter though.

Draft. Black with a thin mocha colored head. Aroma is lots of dark fruit, especially figs. Somewhat vinous. Taste follows suit and adds some really nice smokey and roasted malt notes. Smooth rich palate. Excellent.
