4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from BW. Clear brown pour with a persistent short tan head which leaves moderate lace. Nose is licorice, chocolate and a hint of cinnamon. Medium body with moderate, fine carbonation. Body is quite smooth and round. Black licorice, baking chocolate, molasses and toffee. Finish is medium, semi-sweet, roasty and with a touch of umami which is almost woody. Love it, one of the best Baltic Porters I’ve ever tasted, rivaling Smuttynose’s BP.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark brown with a foamy tan head, loads of big bubbles. Dusty baking chocolate and coffee, has a sweet, tangy flavor. Coffee is prominent but not overwhelming, has an unusual lingering aftertaste, still pretty darned good!
Thanks to rosenbergh for this treat, Mahalo Jan!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Almost black, really nice dark colour with little dark tan head. Aroma: alcoholic, dried mullberry, lots of cacao, coffee, raisins. Tastes like above, dominant dark coffee taste. Would be more enjoyable with desert.

Quite full, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.

Very nice. Smooth and pleasantly dry, with lovely coffee notes. Really well balanced, with just enough sweetness to balance the dry roastiness. Among the best Baltic Porters I’ve had so far.

Poured from a 330 ML bottle into a snifter at the World of Beer in Cary, NC. Wow, the appearance is pure black gold with a small creamy tan head . The aroma is full of malt, coffee bean and cocoa. . . outstanding. The flavor is pure malt heaven and is very rich. An outstanding porter.
