Sinebrychoff Porter is a dark unfiltered beer manufactured by using top fermentation. Munich malts and plenty of hops impart a strong flavour to the beer.

Dark brown color; big, creamy head. Aroma of malt, yoghourt, sweet. Good body strength, a bit oily, roasted malts, light liquorice, light paperboard. Bitterness given most of all by the roasted malt.

Bottle thanks to Rune and Finn. Drunk at home whilst watching jokes about camels. Totally black beer with thick tan head. It’s a thickish beer. Some molasses some liquorice. I prefer a more coffee and chocolate porter. It’s thick and quite tickley dry malty on the finish. Some dryness. It’s a tasty thick porter. Wow. it’s really intense.

Bottle. (trade w/tbone_) Pours very dark brown, almost black, and is topped by a creamy, beige head. Fruity and slightly oxidized nose, with chocolate and roasted malt. The same goes for the flavor, but there’s a weak note of coffee there as well. It finishes quite dry, with chocolate, roasted malt, some fruityness and bitterness. I would like a fuller body on the beer, and also some more hops, but it is definately a nice beer. (070809)

Bottle at Dempsey’s. Pours like motor oil, shiny and black, with a sizeable, firm beige head. Lots of roasted malts and dark chocolate in the aroma. Flavor was somewhat sweet, but the bitter chocolate, almost like baking cocoa, held things in check. Full bodied, chewy, with fine, soft carbonation. Lingering roasty dryness. Excellent.

Bottle from Systembolaget. This is kinda funny. I have tried this beer several times, and I am pretty sure I have rated it once or even twice. But here we go again... Pitch black beer with a nice brownish head. Malty roasted aroma, fruity, raisins, cocoa, licorice notes. tar, coffee notes. Malty caramel flavor, vinous, raisins, figs, chocolate, grapes, cocoa, Cream notes, some licorice. Malty raisin finish with chocolate, caramel and some figs. Nice sweetish stout.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2009 Bottle
Black colour, small dark brown/coffee head. Sweet caramel and bread aroma. Mouthfeel very full and smooth. Roasted malt, lightly bitter finish. (7/4/7/5/16 3.9)
Re-rated, bottled (BB 05/2005, brewed in Kerava)
Opaque black with good and steady brown cappuchino head. Nose is fruity, sweet with hints of smoke. Mouthfeel is bitter, full-bodied with roasted malts and dark chocolate. Pleasant bitter aftertaste. (7/5/8/4/17 4.1)
Re-rated Feb 2009 (BB 11/2009). Dark almost opaque brown color, huge espresso head, lace. Dark fruits, caramel malts, roasted malts and licorice in the nose. Full-bodied. Creamy texture. Quite roasted front with lingering licorice, molasses and pick of alcohol. When warms up, some lactose. Although technically impy, there is something baltic porter -like here. Original yeast of this beer was stolen from Guinness brewery in the 1950s. (8/5/8/4/17 4.2)
