2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 EithCubes (3048) - GERMANY - FEB 7, 2012
Bottled in clear glass as Siam Gold. Corny nose with pale malt, but not skunky or stale (look how low I’ve set the bar!). Light golden body with a white head. Taste is a little sweet (but dries somewhat), thick with malt and harsh dirt, and to my surprise a little boozy. Medium-full body, crisp and possible refreshing with food to mask the impurities.

Had this as alias ’Siam Gold’ in a Thai Restaurant, Wantage, Oxon, 14.01.11 Pours gold, easy drinking, refreshing and a good glugger to counter the very hot soup ’Tom Yum’ soup that I had. Ok so it’s a bit sweet and has all the usual pale lager flavours but it’s fine and did a good job. A5 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9

330 ml bottle in Thailand. Golden color, malt and hops aroma, but very bitter cardboard and palate is the same. At the sametime it is very weak. not very good.

33 cL bottle (as Siam Gold). Pours clear golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is slight grassy and fruity nose. Flavour is soft hoppy flavoured, soft malty base. Dry bitter finish. Quite decent for a pale lager and goes fantastic to spiced Thai food.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 19641948 (490) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - AUG 7, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 Originally reviewed back on 12/15/02. Received 2.4 score. Added to my RB list to check "Thailand" as a beer country consumed. Another rotating beer in my Thai restaurant trips. Super-sweet flavors and corny aromas. Drinkable as it quiets some of the heat from Thai food.
