Bottled, pasteurised. Pale gold with short lasting head. Light dry Thai lager, mostly a malt beer with little hop notes. Tea like base. Whent well in the context of the Thai Restaurant, not sure of how it would be on its own.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 HighGravity (926) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 13, 2004
(Bottled 11/08/03) light sweet and mildly hoppy. Not a pils, but better than many Continental style lagers.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 sayravai (4522) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 10, 2004
(Bottled, actually brewed by license in Germany) Golden color, small head. Fruity, slightly hoppy aroma. Light and fruity, a decent lager but not hoppy enough to be called pilsener. Might go down well with spicy or chinese food.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 22, 2003
Bottled. Pale golden with small head. Fruity, lightly grassy nose. Clean, rounded maltiness and some light hoppy bitterness. Better than the regular Singha.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Jeppe (2633) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2003
I bought this beer by accident! Thought it was stronger than a normal Singha (because of the "gold" in the name). The beer is really just a typical lager and a descent one (I guess most lagers are descent when you drink them in 30+ celcius!!!). No a lot to it.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 wulfhere (217) - Billings, Montana, USA - NOV 11, 2003
Thank God for "Singgold". This beer got me through a month in Thailand, because other than Singha Gold, I never found a beer here that didn't suck enormously.
White head with fine bubbles, but it disappears too fast. No lace to speak of.
Nose is mildly of lemon, tin and BandAids--not a bit of hops or malt.
The taste of Singha Gold is not as offensive as its big brother, so it tastes like a slihtly skunky corona or a bottle of Strohs gone bad. But it goes down alright when you just can't face another Singha.
The main problem with this beer was getting most barmaids to understand that you wnated Singha Gold and not Singha--about 3/4 of the time you got a Singha anyway.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 kumite56 (465) - Cordova, Tennessee, USA - NOV 10, 2003
Medium white head on a pale yellow clear body. Relatively unapealing appearance with aherbal hoppy aroma. Taste is light bodied and watery, some malt sweatness and pleasant but light on flavor. Drinkable and crisp. Not much else
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2003
There has to be something good to say about a light beer that is 4.5% In the humidity and seething population in the Chattuchak market it is a refreshing beer. Back at the hotel it is good, but not as. Anyway, a reasonable spicy note and malt profile. Easy drinking
