golden-orange colour, few head, medium hop aroma with notes of alcohol, full-bodied, crisp with a dry bitter finish - well-balanced and much better than its stronger brother

Bottled. Pale golden with small head. Fruity, lightly grassy nose. Clean, rounded maltiness and some light hoppy bitterness. Better than the regular Singha.

Had this as alias ’Siam Gold’ in a Thai Restaurant, Wantage, Oxon, 14.01.11 Pours gold, easy drinking, refreshing and a good glugger to counter the very hot soup ’Tom Yum’ soup that I had. Ok so it’s a bit sweet and has all the usual pale lager flavours but it’s fine and did a good job. A5 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9

Bottle ( clear ) Tried in Koblenz Germany August 2012 as Siam Gold.
Uninviting aroma although the taste is not as bad as anticipated.
Slightly bitter but pretty lifeless. Wont bother again with this one.

Not so bad. Nothing extraordinary. Better than other thai beer. Sweet in taste and aroma, a bit watery and flat.

Thank God for "Singgold". This beer got me through a month in Thailand, because other than Singha Gold, I never found a beer here that didn't suck enormously.
White head with fine bubbles, but it disappears too fast. No lace to speak of.
Nose is mildly of lemon, tin and BandAids--not a bit of hops or malt.
The taste of Singha Gold is not as offensive as its big brother, so it tastes like a slihtly skunky corona or a bottle of Strohs gone bad. But it goes down alright when you just can't face another Singha.
The main problem with this beer was getting most barmaids to understand that you wnated Singha Gold and not Singha--about 3/4 of the time you got a Singha anyway.
