2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle (330ml). Poured very pale clear bubbly yellow with a large fizzy-foamy-rocky semi-lasting white head. Aroma is "premium ass" - vegetal, dungy, skunky, foul corn and alcohol. Taste is pretty inoffensive, sweet stale malt, fresh hay, quick off the tongue - fairly sugary mouthfeel, lightish body - apart from the smell, this isn’t bad.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at the Solomon Cutler, Birmingham. Pretty good Lager here, with a nibble of strength in the backbone to keep the interest. A tinge of salt and bitterness and some prickly malt. Firm.

Gotta agree with curvedbeer -- this is one of the best Asian mass-brews (IF you can find a fresh bottle, which can be tough in the States), though Kiuchi’s Hitachino Nest line has some gems as well. Clear light straw-colored liquid produces a constant stream of vigorous bubbles that form a thin white head. Sharp hop aroma with some malt showing as well. Flavor starts with the same hop kick and then settles into a pleasant, surprisingly sweet light malt character. Medium, creamy palate. This simple, refreshing thirst-quencher hits one right down the middle, being neither boring and watery or overly complex. Criminally underrated here in my opinion. Fair enough -- guess that means more for me.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2005 My favourite mass produced Asian beer. It has a distinctive taste which separates it from the pack. Beer Singha sold in Thailand is stated as being 6% Alcohol.

Gee, this wasn’t that good. Offputting monkey urine smell. It tasted slightly better than it smelled, but as the beer warmed it became almost undrinkable.

This beer pours a clear light golden yellow color with a thin soapy white head and fairly light lacing. The aroma is flat out pretty horrid. Wheat, grains, metal, corn, rice...just not good. Flavor-wise this beer continues the level of sucktitude I’ve come to expect from Thailand. Metallic corn flavor with heavy metal and cardboard like grassiness. It’s almost as if an ancient civilization of hops once existed in this beer, and all I got left with was the hop bones and remnants of this left over hop civilization. Stale, stale, stale!!! Prickly carbonation..dry as all hell...vominous!

Crystal clear yellowish gold color. Small fizzy head and has a lot of carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Typical lager aroma of malt and corn. Flavoris both sweet and bitter. Huge corn/wheat and rice cereal flavors wih a low carbonation in the drink that made this beer feel like i was drinking a low alcohol. This beer in specific is added a lot in Thai cooking.
