COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A premium lager beer brewed from the finest ingredients, Singha is a full-bodied 100% barley malt beer that is distinctively rich in taste with strong hop characters. Brewed with three hops: Saaz, Perle and Hallertau. Editor’s Note: Recipe scaled down from 6% to 5% in 2007.

Count this one for Thailand. Very light yellow with white head. Bad chemical-like soap and industrial cleaner aroma with the typical lager-like lemons. Smooth body, I will admit, and it doesn't really taste that bad. I was expecting worse. Grains, wheat, lemons, etc. Bad finish but OK taste.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2005 (Bottled) Pale golden color, quite small head. Slightly fruity, flowery-hoppy, corny aroma. Smooth, sweetish-malty, grassy-hoppy, fruity, honeyish flavor. Slightly stingy-carbonated, medium-bodied, bitter, warming and sticky palate. Hides the ABV well, especially when drank cool. Very easily drinkable as such a strong lager, Singha reminds me of some of its Baltic counterparts - but, on the other hand, it has some light-corny properties of the beers from tropical countries.

Pours syrupy gold. No head. Lots of carb. Skunked hoppy aroma. Meaty skunked taste. Although I don't want any more, I will continue the tasting. Apple juice, corn, rice. Some malts, not bitter. If there were any hops, they've left nothing but their skunky droppings. It has a good mouthfeel. The flavour is foul and cheap.

Light taste with no head or lacing. It had a small ginger taste but, was mostly crap. I didn't like the taste at any point.

This stuff is terrible. Crappy color no head, watery mouthfeel, and horrible aftertaste. Just plain bad- enough said.

I don't know what to think of this one. It says malt liquor on the bottle, but it tastes like a lager, and not the typical malt liquor I am used to. Too bad it is very watery. Watery taste, and not much in the aromas category, but hey, it is 6% in case you want to get ripped.

Maybe if I were to try this with some tasty Thai food I'd like it better. By itself I'm not impressed. Pours a yellow with very little head and no lacing. I should comment on th enique bottle, though, it's verry cool. Smells, well, when I first opened it up it smelled like garlic. It still has a hint of that, but now it smells mainly like a typical macro. Tastes like a typical macro lager. There's a stronger sweetness to it that would make it enjoyable with Asian food, but that's about it. Not other tastes I can identify. Mouthfeel is, well, typical if that. Plenty of carbonation but watery. Drinkability would be great, perhaps, with food. Alone it's not impressive. And if I were to rate this with food I'd have to change a bunch of other reviews as well.

Every country that brews beer has their own local answer to Bud. This, presumably, is Thailand's. It's only redeeming quality - assuming you are drinking to get drunk - is the extra percentage point in the alcohol department.

Crystal clear, pale yellow lager. Corn and straw in the nose and flavor. Well-balanced, but certainly not all that strong "hop-wise." Light-bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel. Short, dry finish.

Pungent hops aroma, light bitter, slightly metallic. Beany character, with little malt contribution to the aroma. Standard lager-type smell. Pale yellow clear with small white head that dissipates quickly with little lacing. Medium-light watery body with heavy carbonation. A little bit of sweetness up front, not malty. Hops come in, but are not fruity or floral. Impart a pungent and dry bitterness to the finish, that lasts well after the beer is swallowed. This beer would be a nice with food, but by itself it's not very good.
