A premium lager beer brewed from the finest ingredients, Singha is a full-bodied 100% barley malt beer that is distinctively rich in taste with strong hop characters. Brewed with three hops: Saaz, Perle and Hallertau. Editor’s Note: Recipe scaled down from 6% to 5% in 2007.

Bottled. Pale golden, mediumsized white bubbly head. Malt, hops and maize in aroma. Weak sweetish bread taste with bitter finish. Pleasant bittersweet aftertaste. Gets a bit better when not being fridge-cold.

Clear, bland appearance. The aroma was offensive and decidely unpleasant. But the taste wasn’t too bad. I’m so used to drinking beers which promise more than they actually deliver, I must admit it was nice to have one that was better than its first impression led me to believe it would be.

This is a Jekyll and Hyde beer whose experience radically varies from bottle to bottle and sip to sip. At the coldest temperatures, the beer is at it’s best. Every degree it warms brings it one step closer to its malt liquory Thai siblings, its taste revealing its high alcohol content. As a side note, Thais drink their beer with ice, and I am never sure if this one is brewed taste-adjusted knowing that it will become watered down over the course of a glass. Clearly, even wondering about that doesn’t bode well for it, but in Thailand it’s still better than almost everything else.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2006 That is a bitter beer with caracter!, I liked it so far, but I would not drink a lot of this at a party. It is clear but a little thick, bitter and not that strong.

I picked this one up for the sole purpose of accompanying some thai green curry. Very heady pour, light straw in color. Slightly effervescent. At first had little to no aroma or taste but as it warmed, got hints of the malt, kinda bland though. Yeasty too. Was hoping this would match the curry better but lacked the carbonation and body. So so beer. Cheers!

Southeast Asia has yet to produce a decent beer. I had very low expectations for this. No surprise. Easily one of the worst beers That I have ever drank. Stinks real bad. Skunk and general nastiness. Tastes sweet, skunky, & solventlike.

Born on 3/31/04. Aroma is skunky rice. Appearance is lemony piss. So-so lacing. Sweet vinegar palate. Flavor is weird. Solvent and malt.

Pours a golden yellow, small white head. Aroma of rice and stale hops. Flavor is similar, very malty with lemon and (Sweat) to it. Not bad...

clear yellow w/ a big white head... a mildly skunky rice aroma an overly light highly carbonated palate. Little different in flavor from the others not good but not nearly as aweful a bit of an unsweet malt and alcohol flavor.. this was one of the better malt liquors of our night.

Filled 3-31-04. Shiny amber, fading white head. Buttery corn aroma with subtle spice. Soft grainy flavor, slightly sweet astringency with corny cardboard. Decent crappy beer.
