Bottle at Zenna in Plano. Poured a clear light yellow color with a thin white top. Taste of rice, grain, lots of malt and a subtle bitter finish. Well carbonated. Decent for a premium lager.

Singha is a pale larger from Thailand. It has a refreshing taste for hot weather it is exported to many countries. Enjoyed with ice cubes.

This beer looks like a typical lager, for it is a pale yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly; furthermore, it smells overly malty and slightly skunky. This beer is mildly sour, slightly bitter, and slightly salty, and the palate of the beer is made up of a light body, thin texture, average carbonation, and an abrupt finish.

I decided to take the opportunity to get Thailand on my countries board, and to sample a beer mentioned in a Pogues song, so: 660ml bottle served cool in an outsize tulip. Bright maidens-water yellow with a disappating white head. Slight Garibaldi biscuit and grass aroma. Biscuit flavour, but quite insipid. Light bodied, and a bit over-carbonated for my taste. A bit of bitterness either in the flavour or the finish wouldn’t go amiss. Probably great served ice-cold in summer on Pattaya beach. Less so in Gateshead in February.

330ml bottle. Clear yellow body with a low white head. Sweet malts with a brief bitter ending. Anonymous and a bit on the watery side.
