A premium lager beer brewed from the finest ingredients, Singha is a full-bodied 100% barley malt beer that is distinctively rich in taste with strong hop characters. Brewed with three hops: Saaz, Perle and Hallertau. Editor’s Note: Recipe scaled down from 6% to 5% in 2007.

Pours golden with medium head. Taste of malt, a little bit of corn and lemon. A very standard lager, not bad but nothing to write home about, either.

330ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours golden yellow with a dissipating white head. Aroma of malt with some lemon. Bitter sweet finish.

Couleur paille, translucide. Mousse blanche peu persistante. Arômatique maltage céréales sans plus. En bouche similaire, petite amertume d’houblon. Faible carbonatation. Buvable, sans plus.

Bottle. Not much aroma beyond generic lager -- golden, clear colour. Taste is short but refreshing. Decent.

Light colour and light taste. Very little aroma, and not much bitterness from the hops. At least it has quite a pleasant maltiness with a good mouth sensation. At 5% ABV it is more mouth filling than, say, most of the Chinese beers which are much weaker. It is made from barley, rather then rice, which might contribute to the fuller taste. This beer is perfect for accompanying a Thai curry in Thailand, but I would not choose to drink it otherwise.

"Singha is another decent enough food beer...starts clean and finishes dry. does not have any of the nasty skunky aspects of american macro beer, but it’s nothing special either."

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 0.33ml bottle poured into a chalice. An Asian beer in all means. It has this crisp and refreshing taste. Smells malt but also rice peel or something. Interesting enough is a characteristic perfume in it. I don’t know exactly what it is... It reminds me flowers! :/ A: Pale yellow color with a huge white head which dissipates quickly leaving not much lacings S: Quite flowery smell. Also malts, hops and rice can be felt T: The taste of malt is quite good and the hop bitterness is quite present too M: Very light body with a medium and balanced carbonation D: It goes easy. A summer beer. Nothing special apart the characteristic perfume [ BA Review @ 6/11/2010 ]

Bottles at some Thai place in Westwood.

Man, UCLA is a beer wasteland. Santa Monica is just fine, so I didn’t expect this. Anyway, yellow pour, foamy white head. Aroma of corn and bread, flavor of sweet sweet corn. Totally drinkable, not unpleasant in any way once the palate acclimates to the sweetness -- but beyond that, little to recommend it.

It comes out better than I thought. First of all, it wasn’t usual replica beer but was brewed in Thailand and imported. German inspired(I read in somewhere that the original brewery was opened by German....) Nice hoppy flavour add to medium body golden colour.
