A premium lager beer brewed from the finest ingredients, Singha is a full-bodied 100% barley malt beer that is distinctively rich in taste with strong hop characters. Brewed with three hops: Saaz, Perle and Hallertau. Editor’s Note: Recipe scaled down from 6% to 5% in 2007.

Clear golden, moderate head that diminishes, some lacing and retention. Aroma is light grains, not much else. Light bodied, medium to high carbonation, somewhat sweet. Zzzz

An okay beer, better than most American macros. I had this at a Thai restaurant with lunch. It pours gold more than straw which I liked. The aroma is very grainy, some esters in there, and perhaps a little bit of corn. The flavor is much the same, grainy malt and some bitterness are detectable. Not a bad beer, but I don’t really think it complements Thai food very well as it’s not bitter enough to cut through food that’s as spicy as I like Thai dishes, they should really jack up the hops for that. If you’re eating Thai this beer is okay with sweet curries, Pad Thai, and the like, but get something like an IPA if you’re eating something spicy or with a lot of chilis.

Pours clear light gold with a filmy lasting white head. Smell is sweet honey like malt. Taste is quite sweet with no "strong hop characters" as the bottle states. No balance or hops at all in the flavor and just a big malty sweet bubbly bit o water. Not great.

630ml bottle. Straw with a fast fading white head, soft carbonation; inoffensive lager with a sweet corn syrup taste. A good match with spicy food, but otherwise lacking any character.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2009 Pours crystal clear dirty urine. Smells like bad malt and corn. Taste is watery, sweet and ricey, not very good at all. Guess this is Thai swill. DNF

bottle. Pours golden, thin white head. Not sure what is so premium about this beer. Crisp finish, drinkable, just nothing spectacular. Malty, with light touch of bitter hops and faint hints of sweetness.

Corny and grainy aroma. On the edge of tasting skunky but not quite there. Metallic and bitter/sour taste. A fair lager but lacks a lot.

Bottle with love to coyotehunter for a new country tick. Pours a predictable corny gold with a thin white hear and aromas of grass and corn. Flavor is uninspiring. A mix of corn and grass with little else to offer.
