COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottle Conditioned; Special.
Single hop series.
As the name suggests we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. For this range we select the more interesting hops and add several bucket loads to each brew. This one uses the English variety Phoenix. Expet subtle fruity flavours with gentle hints of spice and a very smooth bitter finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Opaque yellow. No head to speak under. Yes it’s sort of hoppy - a dusty, tinned pineapple taste. It does have a pleasing tart bitterness. Not the brash hops of modern times, but a good UK jolt to the tastebuds.

Bottled, 500ml from West Country Ales, Cheddar, Somerset. Cloudy yellow gold with white head. Nice aroma, plenty of autumn like leafy notes, but the actual beer is a little harsh. It is bitter orange with sharp chemical note, salty perhaps, but not quite that. Challenging and dry but interesting all the same.

Bottle from Grape & Grind, Bristol. Pale gold in colour with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Crisp, slightly earthy malt aroma with a touch of hedgerow fruit. Grainy malt flavour, with a spicy kick and bitter finish. Unusual.

Cask at Euston Tap in London. Very light in colour, a pale straw colour. Really hoppy, but with a refreshing citrus hint. Very drinkable. Enjoyable beer.
