Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Hot butterscotch, resin and caramel aromas. Soft with dank resin and toffee upfront turning mildly sour resin in the lasting citrus finish.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow/orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Nestled sticky lacing. The smell shows a fair amount of fresh citrusy zestiness over some danky sweet onion bitterness. Slight resinous backside to this one. The taste was semi-juicy with a nice spring-loaded bitterness from the citrus and resin. Definitely leans bitter rind-like in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a chewy bitterness hitting my tongue nicely. Appropriate bitter harshness hits just right. Overall, damn nice DIPA by Singlecut, definitely a brewery that can hang in a state like Vermont. Welcome playas!

Single Cut has firmly established a place in the world of brewers making hazy juicy ’new england’ IPAs/DIPAs. This one is very nice. The aroma presents a solid amount of fresh cut citrus (more lemon/orange than grapefruit), tropical fruit, floral hops, resin and a bit of booze. The flavor follows and adds a peppery spice along with bigger juicier fruit elements from both the citrus and tropical fruit notes. Softer mouthfeel, solidly bitter, very very juicy. Crisp bitter flavorful finish.

Bursting aroma of caramel malt, pine hop, molasses and citrus rind. It’s generally bitter but pale compared to most IIPAs. A sweet fructose zest, earth and hop on the tongue. I’m not picking up the dank unfortunately. Pretty addictive actually, it’s quite smooth and at 8.6% I could easily drink 2 of these.

Bottle from Colonial Spirits. Pours a hazy murky grapefruit juice color with a huge bubbly bone white head that persists. Bready toffee caramel maltiness with plenty of earthy citrus to counter. Sweet bready fruity maltiness. Citrus and pine hop flavor. Light to moderate hop bitterness. Not bad, a bit sweet for my tastes though.

Tapped from a keg at Bottle Caps in Watertown. An off-white head on a rich golden body. The nose is a real hit with dank pinyness, lemon and a touch of orange. Nice fresh and distinct hop tastes - grapefruit pulp, orange rind, pine and a touch of peach. Complimented by soft sweet malt and a touch of honey. Really solid density on the body and the carbonation helps keep the finish clean. A-1.
