3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Winter edition of Sinpalsken Donker, used to be called Sinpalsken Kerstbier. Bottled in 75 cl bottles with paper wrapped around them and only made in very limited quantities (and not every winter, I assume); found this through friends who are acquainted with the brewer. Dark brown beer with thin off-white head; low carbonation and therefore smooth and very soft, almost buttery mouthfeel; malty and dried fruits, caramel, coriander, light roasted bitterishness in the finish. Interesting but more so because of its rarity than because of its actual taste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Brown color with a small white head. Aroma is harsh malty, caramel, fruit, stabel. Flavor is sweet and very acidic, with a long duration. Not a beer for me. (det er en ommer !)

Mild, sweet and malty aroma. Caramel start. Citric finish. Some raisin notes. Unclear brown (muddy) colour. Nice mild and spicy palate. Aftertaste of diabetic-medicine (thanx Theresa Miszourkewich...)

Cloudy brown amber coloured beer. Weak, medium malty aroma. Sweet yeasty, malty taste. A slightly bitter finish. A good beer without special characteristics.
