From bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours dark brown and with a lacing light brown head. Slight banana fruity and spiced aroma. Flavour is slight acidic/citric with a banana note and fruity overall. Mild malt note beneath. Finish is sweet lingering of the same notes. Nice brew although I’m not sure it was clean.

Bottle 33 cl. Cloudy brown with floaties and a beige head. Lovely oxidized aroma, nuts, overripe fruit, brown sugar and alcohol. Medium body, roasted malts, oxidized woody notes, Sherry and an underlying tartness - a lurking infection? Doesn’t spoil the fun though. No real bitterness. Quite delicious really. 100909

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours deep brownish red with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has nuts, lots of overripe strawberries, some oak, caramel and light raisin-ish tartness. Low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Very oaky flavour, sweet and sugary, sherry notes, lightly roasted. A tad on an infection, but this is a year old now, and it still hasn’t evolved poorly. Light vinious and boozy finish.
