(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark amber colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Yeasty and sweet caramel-malty and distinctively fruity notes of berries and ripe pineapples. Sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Yeasty and fruity taste with a cara-malty base; sweet-bitter and fruity finish with a shy acidic tartness shining through. Nice but not particularly exciting. 25.XI.10
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JorisPPattyn (7310) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 3, 2010
Explosive gushing to disappearing head over muddy amber beer. Perfumed nose, with some pine, juniper and a jumble of yeastesters, including meaty ones. Yeast, yeast, yeast. Dry grains or similar as buckwheat or farro; buckwheat pasta, old cookies. I was expecting some sourness or so, but none of that. Yeast filled to medium body, very carbonated MF, very lightly burning feel. Weird.
