4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle dated best by March 30, 2013. Pours a bit dark for a triple, but nonetheless a lovely shade of cloudy orange with a light, fringe, off-white lacing. Wonderful, enticing aroma of honeycomb, dark citrus, and creamy hops. It might be a little unfair because it has some age, but this is drinking beautifully. Soft brown spice and honeyed/candied citrus and white fruit -- BUT finishes just to the dry. Extremely palatable. Not sure what it’s like young, but this is delicious. A little like an aged Houblon?

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 29/07/16
Lively deep golden body, good clarity, pours a typically Belgian big, fluffy white head, that sticks around/.
After the head FINALLY dies down, there’s some appreciable yeasty spice on the nose - clove, pepper, ripe pears and apple, sultana & apricot, husky malts, touch of sugar syrup.
Creamy palate, smooth, full, carbonation is lively, cuts through the apparent richness.
Sweet pale malts upfront, touch of white sugar with plenty of savoury yeasty spice, ripe apricots, cinnamon & nutmeg & clove, touch of vanilla. Moderate leafy bitterness to finish, touch of drying boozy warmth.
Quite a decent Tripel

Really attractive clear amber pour with large fluffy white head and cascading streams of bubbles. Aromas of dried apricots, spices, light funk, floral hops. Taste includes apricots, fresh bread, tangerine, honey. Light hop bitterness. Light to medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable, if a little overly sweet.
