Bottle. It pours a clear, brown body under a small, beige head. Lots of dried fruits on the nose, with some white sugar, a touch of ripe blue plums and yeast, and a spiced hint. Nicely carbonated, full-bodied, with some cellar. Mostly sweet, caramel and dried fruits Nutty notes. Sweet finish with dried fruits and some cellar. A quite nice beer, but it wonít raise any eyebrows. 100423

Bottle that I picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Gent, Belgium, 31-10-09 consumed 15-12-09 Pours a really muddy puddle brown in fact nothing like the picture, this stuff is really murky and my careless pouring (though I didnít realise I was being careless) has ensured that there is tons of sediment like a hundred million jellyfish swirling about in this. Aroma is of rough, raw cane sugar. Taste is rich, malty, spicy and with a good depth of flavour. Ok its a bit rough around the edges not least in the appearance but its most likeable, mollasses, a spicy peppery bitterness, if the aroma and appearance had of offered a bit more this could have been a really decent beer, as it is, it just pretty decent. Feinschmecker (202) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 28, 2009
Dark amber color. Yeasty with esters of apples and pears. Spicy yet light. Not that great on the palate. The hop characteristic comes through. Not very cleverly brewed. Totally out of balance.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Clear brown ruby colour thick beige head. Bit of gravy browning on this dubbel. Some ok rich dryish malts. But if anything a bit too much on the malts and it makes it a bit sickly. Yes, it is almost as though not fully attenuated. I donít think that is the case, but there is some definite puke in the malts though. Bit too gassy and not really my kinda dubbel. Prefer something much drier or more vinous.
