Feinschmecker (202) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 28, 2009
Dark amber color. Yeasty with esters of apples and pears. Spicy yet light. Not that great on the palate. The hop characteristic comes through. Not very cleverly brewed. Totally out of balance.

Refrescante y deliciosa. 330ml bottle. Westmalle Goblet glass. Pours bright dark ruby in color, clear appearance & ruby tints to the light. Off-white foam, close crown forms a thin & lasting layer on top. Slight sugary, plum, yeast & intense herbal aromas, subtle spiced, candy, cane sugar & ripe grape hues, alcanfor & phenol notes. Sweet/acidic fruit –berries & plum- & sugary flavors at first sip. Medium to full body. Moderate to high carbonation. Dense to watery texture & spiced sensation. Gentle herbal bitterness, woody notes & kind acidic touch in the middle. Long bitter/sweet finish & fruity aftertaste. ABV is felt as a light heat. Refreshing & delicious.

Noctilucus (98) - All over Belgium, BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2013
Burgundy with a bit of brown and a nice thick beige head of fine foam; slightly hazy after adding the yeast. The nose is quite hoppy with warming alcohol and sugars The taste itself is pretty aggressive (though not excessive) due to the carbonation; mostly sharp hops, banana, not sweet in spite of the smell. There’s also a bit of roast in there and the slightest bit of alcohol but overall it’s quite refreshing, not to say lacking body. The aftertaste is maltier, still banana and quite bitter hoppy, almost grassy. Decent yet nothing too special.
