   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
CapedBrewsader (265) - Brasschaat, BELGIUM - MAY 4, 2007
25cl. Bottle: Pours a crisp clear but dark strawberry with no other highlights. Light pink thin head. Actually quite a nice color in the glass. Very rich blueberry aroma, slightly synthetic but better than I expected. First thought, I wish I had some pancakes to pour this over. Also a slight herbal note in the back as well as a small dash of farmyard or manure. Taste of blueberries doesn’t quite live up to the aroma... it is definitely there and definitely blueberry but I am more drawn to the odd sweetness. Almost a saccharine or "fake" sugar sweetness. And it doesn’t let up... the odd sugar taste stays in your mouth and starts to turn bitter in the aftertaste. There is definitely a weak red table wine component to the flavor. Mix some red wine with water, a little blueberry juice, a packet of sugar substitute, and a couple table spoons of a pale ale and then you have this beer. I will have to say though, after reading some of the other reviews, this beer isn’t as bad as I was expecting... but then again I don’t know if I would ever buy another.

0.25l bottle. Pours with no head at all, very little carbonation. Tastes a bit like light red wine, a bit sour and not too sweet. I’m quite new to fruit beers, so I have nothing to compare to. Quite a nice introduction.

SHIG (3838) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - DEC 28, 2006
Bottle: Poured a reddish brown in color with a soft reddish white head. The aroma was of a berry fruit. The taste sweet and fruit enriched.

Bordeaux-red colour, redish head, no carbonation at all. Fruity aroma, a little bit like wine, taste is sweet and fruity, finish is light bitter, and rather dry.

bmxutos (161) - Lisboa, PORTUGAL - NOV 20, 2005
Bottle, 25cl. Pours a beautiful red liquid with a huge and long lasting reddish head. Nice lacing and carbonation. The aroma is sour and vinious with notes of berries, nothing very intense. Flavour is very good: a little bittersweet, fruity and dry. The sweetness isn’t as strong as other fruit/lambic beers and that’s good, at least in my point of view. Must be very cold! A very nice fruit beer!

Pink bordeaux colour. Pink slowly disappearing head, average lacing. Strong berry aroma, smells oversweetened. The initial flavour is offcourse sweet, but not as sweet as expected, with very light sourness. Finish is too sweet.

Deep red colour with a very small pinkish head. A disgusting soap-like flavour. (Bottle 25cl 4.5 alcohol% in my version)

sayravai (4677) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2005
(Bottled, 4.5% ABV) Clear, darkish red color with a small, fading head. Sweetish, lemonadey (blue)berry aroma. Sweetish, slightly bitter flavor of blueberries. No finish to speak of. Light to medium-bodied palate with high, lemonadey carbonation. Not really beer, but decent lemonade. The sweetness is of a quite natural kind.

Papsoe (25074) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2005
(Bottle 25 cl) My version was 4,5% ABV. Pale red colour, pretty much like a traditional kriek actually. Tall, pretty, pinkisk and almost velvety head. Some underlying sweetness from the blueberries but not overwhelmingly so. On the contrary this is rather dry and never cloying as with some of the more pop-like fruit-beers. Based on pils, which is fairly unusual. 130795

TBone (13532) - Pori, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2005
Bottled, 25cl, alc 4.5 % (BB 09/2005)
Ruby red with creamy violet head, lace. Aroma of leather and blueberry. Artificial sugar and blueberry flavors. Dry, slightly bittersweet aftertaste. Artificial, just drinkable.
