bottle, trade with fonefan, thanks! shared with faroeviking in the woods of allerød, in the sunshine, to celebrate my 2 yrs on ratebeer. cloudy red, small thick light pink head. aroma of marzipan, sweet cherries, sweetness. flavor is slightly sour/acid, sweet cherries. nice fruit beer, still got a faint acidic touch, and the fruits are not artificial.

25cl bottle at home: Label says "Nieuw! Morel Krieken Bier" on the neck label, but the main label looks like the one thats been around for years... so whats new? Pours a light cherry juice with yellowed edges. A nice decently dense light barbie pink mouse lays on top. Big time cherry aroma, but more like the gummy cherry candies than fresh fruit. Yeah.. exactly like the candy. Very sweet aroma. Just sugar and questionable cherry (read artificial). There is a light sourness behind the sweet juice that seems nicely funky. Flavor is like the aroma. Very sweet cherry candy. Rather artificial feeling. Light metallic behind the intense sugar that builds to heavy tin bby the end. Sticky, but thankfully not as sticky as it wants to be. Light citrus flows from the middle and becomes more lactic at the end. If you use your imagination you can pick up a brett-like character on the tail behind everything else.. or is that wishful thinking?

Light unclear light to medium red color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to light pink head. Aroma is moderate morrelen, cherry, marzipan. Flavor is moderate to heavy syntetisk sweet with a average duration, refreshing but syntetisk. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081218]

A hazy pinkish beer with a pink head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of almonds. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, cherries, and almonds, leading to a slightly acidic finish.

Hazy reddish amber with a medium pink head. Very sweet aroma with plenty of almond and cherry notes. Again very sweet sweet flavour though tartness from cherries. Somewhat tart finish. Far better than expected.

Courtesy of Fonefan. It is a nice red beer with a slightly pink head. The aroma has notes of marzipan, almonds and cherries. The flavour is very sweet with notes of marzipan, almond and cherries. It is too sweet and a bit artificial.

25 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours hazy orange to redish with a diminished pink head. Dense almond artificial aroma. Sweet malty, cherry flavoured and metallic. Light earthy finish again with a distinct metallic note and lasting metallic note.

Bottle. [Tasting session @ Papsoe] Large creamy reddish head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Light cloudy reddish color. Aroma of marzipan and cherry, light citrus, fruit. Lovely sweet almond, cherry, marzipan. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet flavour with a hint of acidic. Light sweet almond and cherry finish. Sweet, yes but I like it.

25cl, from Geers Oostakker, not complex Kriek, not balanced, cloudy, small head, nothing special, too sweet

Bright red to cyclamen colour; dense pinkish head leaving lace. Artificial sweet cherry, childrens’ sweets aroma, bit almondy or cherry stones, frangipane. Syrupy sweet taste, with a retronasal flavour of old, shriveled cherries. After some time, the marzipan-frangipane flavour dominates. Some syrupy slikcness; light to medium bodied with a slight, not entirely unpleasant titillating sensation. Way, way too sweet & artificial.
