Bottled. Fantastic alcoholic, vinuous aroma with dried fruit notes. The appearance is a muddy murky dishwater brown with no head at all. Full flavoured very strong alcohol taste almost sherry like. An extremely pleasurable drinking experience, just not so pretty on the eye.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2005
Hazy dark amber color; the head disappears too quickly, fizzing. Nice aroma of malt, cake, fruits (dried raisins?). Malty, quite sweet in the front, correctly balanced later (just the necessary bitterness), caramel, spices, candi sugar, some alcohol perception. Pleasant Winter beer.

A Mes rate:
Bottle from Battersea Beer Festival. Malty and sweet. Very Belgian in the nose. Murky brown colour with good head retention. Fairly yeasty flavour with fairly obvious alcohol giving it plenty of warmth on the way down. Great palate, something to really sink your teeth into. Almost sugary sweet but its just about tolerable. Balanced out with some bitterness at the death. Chunky and quite tasty.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 21, 2006
(Bottled) Murky dark amber color with a small head. Extremely grainy-malty, caramely-candy-sugary aroma with figs, plums and some alcohol. Sweetish, very malty and quite syrupy flavor with lavender, yeast and a slightly bitter finish. Not very clean, but the alcohol is well hidden. Medium to full-bodied, somewhat sugary palate with quite low carbonation. A bit too sugary, but grainy and very malty, reasonably enjoyable and interesting brew.
