Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 4, 2004 A dark amber beer with a fine white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, yeast, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet malty with notes of yeast, fruit, and alcohol, that dries out the tongue, before a sweetness comes back and lingers. Where is the licorice? oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland May 6, 2007 Bottled. Hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, wheat, fruits, yeast and some licorace. Flavour is fruity hops, quite "woody", sweet caramelly and sugary. Wellbalanced and nice. MiP (6313), Flensburg, Germany Oct 29, 2007 Bottle, 8%. Weak plastic aroma, some CO2. Cloudy orange colour. Very small white head. The flavour is surprisingly spicy, though slightly rough. A little sweet and malty with anis aftertaste. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England May 1, 2006 Bottle at Reading BF 06. Copper with thin white head. Oooh this is a bit different. Some blackcurranty fruit. Nice hop aroma. Quite lively. Good carbonation. Bit of white choc and pineapple too. Good tripel and a real change from all these bitters. bierkoning (5077), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 29, 2003 Bottled in september '03, way too early to sell to customers. No head, very cloudy, orange color. Honey and licorice aroma. No lacing, sugary "zoethout" flavor. Needs further cellaring to develop, but I doubt if this would do this beer any good.
