From barrel at Sion. Clear pale gold pour with white head. Grainy aroma, rather faint, light grassiness, light peach. Taste is grainy, light metallic notes, very light, slightly watery. Palate is light, light carbonation. Easy drinking but a bit bland.

30 cL on draught at the Bier Museum in Koln. Clear golden with a light foamy head. Bitter, very dry hoppy with a fair bite. The head disappears as soon as you’ve had a mouthfull. The aroma is typical kolsch, nothing special - which sums up this beer really. To be fair its still pretty easy to drink though.

Bottle at home, 500ml, poured into a 0.2 kolsch glass, ABV 4.8% Clear golden yellow colour on the body, with two fingers of soapy white head. Good retention, minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma of malts and bread. Taste of malts, nicely hopped though, clean and criso, even some light citrus. Medium thin body, soft carbonation, very dry on the palate. Quite nice, kolsch is a style I don’t really get but this beer was very drinkable.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grain and not a lot else. Flavour of grass, grain and light citrus. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Nice fizz. A clean beer. Not the most interesting though.

Draught at Bedford:Bamberg Spring Festival. Yellow gold with a bit of carbonation and a quickly dissipating head. Muted aroma of metal, grass and lemons with some astringency. The taste gives you an initial bitter tang followed by a sweet rush. The bitterness then returns for the finish and aftertaste. Solid and passable but unexciting.
