Opaque black - brown beer, small tan head. Palate is slightly soft and a little dry. Fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts including the chocolate cake. Trace of spice and a little coconut. Light dry finish. Nice beer but the flavours seem less vibrant then it’s cask sibling.

On tap at the Bottle Shop London. Black beer thick tan head. Cedar barrel ageing is subtle. Gives it dryness. Roast chocolate and wood. It’s decent. Good dark chocolate. Lovely.

Bottle. It pours an almost black body and a small, dense, tan head leaving lacings. The aroma is nice but a bit weak. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, aromatic wood and a citrusy touch. Some alcohol notes. It’s super-smooth on the palalte, with a soft carbonation level. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, wood, coffee and sweetness. Full body. Faintly chili-spiced in the finish. Pretty lovely this one. 140927
