This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg.

Bottle @ The Festival 2014. Slightly hazed golden pour with a tall white foam. Nose is sort of herbaceous and certainly lemony. A bit of Lemon Pine Sol, lemongrass, and some bready malt. Flavor is a touch on the sweet side at first. Preserved lemons, zest, and plenty of pine. Very herb forward, which I wasn’t expecting. Decently bitter. Hints of orange marmalade, bread, and biscuit dough.

On tap @ Small Bar, Bristol - UK. Color: clear golden beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: lemon and citrus high domination. Hops and grassy presence. Taste: high lemon taste, really interesting but maybe excessive. Not well balanced. Aftertaste: high bitterness and lemon attack. Interesting but not easy drinkable. Something to test.

Bottle 500ml. Pours slightly hazy golden with low off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruits. Taste is of bitterness, fruits, flowers, spices, perfume, flowers, tea. Palate: Light-medium body. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Good. Perfumy.

Bottle. Pours gold with light head. Aromas of lemongrass, sweat, tropical fruit and sharp melons (is there such a thing?) Flavours of green apples, light lemon, light spruce/cedar and very light grain. Unique and interesting. Definitely cuts through residual flavors of other beers at a tasting.

Bottle. Aroma has some barnyard funk, lemon heads and a little lemon peel. It’s pretty good but the artificial lemon flavor makes it a little off in the flavor. The taste is mostly a wet long bitter so I think it’s the combo of those too that makes it a little weird and off putting.

Pours like a hazy pilsner with a tiny white head. Aroma is citrusy. From the first sip the tart and sourness of lemon hits your tongue. Aftertaste is mainly filled with citrus hops. Still more of a sour than an ipa. The sourness and hops are a weird mix for me. Brewers do a great job to achieve their goal of a lemon cello beer but it's not for me.

Bottle from the store. Nose is strong citrus at first then reveals a light tart/funkiness. Pour is a hazy gold with a medium sixed white head that dissipates quickly. Taste is tart, clean lactic sourness at first, then shows of some very zesty notes, almost pithy. interesting. Probably wouldn’t pay $9 for a bottle again, but it’s interesting. I think I’ll struggle to get through the whole glass though.

Gold pour, white head. Cool as shit! Lemons, hops, light tartness, yeasty, earthy, wet hay, grassy, honeydew. Fun stuff. I would like to revisit this at some point.

Bottle (500 ml). Clear golden with a small white head and little lacing. Aroma is mainly of lemon zest with some spiciness, tropical fruits and light soapy presence. Taste is also dominated by lemon zest with tropical fruits, spicy notes, pine, light malt backbone and light to moderate bitterness. Medium body. Low carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Interesting because it’s really similar to limoncello, but other than that I didn’t enjoy it very much. Not super drinkable/quenching. Not sure about the balance either.

Bottle. Clear yellow with a medium sized diminishing white head. I haven’t had much limoncello, but I remember it as more lemony than this. This has some dust and lactic notes. Lemon and light tropical fruits. It is pretty pleasant to sip on and holds the alcohol well.
