COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg.

Nja, väldigt citronig. Det kanske är meningen, och då har man väl lyckadats. I DIPA termer är väl den mer skum än god.

bottle, from Bottle Revolution RDU. good aroma, sweet, citrus. Lemon. brownish orange color, good head and lace, bitter sweet flavor. medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, real bitter finish, love the aroma, flavor and finish are soapy, and to me, a bit of a turn off, not as good as the lime cello I had, but darn good

Soft bright yellow pour with a slight haze. Two fingers of white head that quickly collapses. Nose shows a lightly earthy note with a lemony tartness and spicy note. Flavor shows a noticeable acidity and lemony tartness with asoft bitterness. Peppery and zesty on the finish with a light body.

Beer4000 (4922) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 13, 2015
330 ml bottle sampled April 2014. Slightly unclear orange/golden body with a small off-white head. Quite unusually aroma, some malt, chewing gum, lemon and flowers. Flavor has citric fruit, chewing gum, orange zest and moderate bitterness. Medium body and more than less just citric fruit in aftertaste. Strange, sweet, more like a novelty beer. Still fun.

Strange ipa. Very tart, salty in a Strange way. Maybe this isn’t so fresh as he would be... But it’s ok. Lemon zest, resins, a lit bit to much caramalt for the genre but remains a good beer. I want to retry this fresh

Amber golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, malts, marmalade and lemon zest. Flavour sour citrus, light sweet, lemon zest, light hops. Quite tart and bitter finish, loads of lemon zest. Quite interesting.
(from draught @ Mother Kelly’s, RBESG 2014, London. Listed as Siren Limoncello Double IPA, if I’m not mistaken.)

Bottle BBE: 30.09.15. Chilled. Amber pour with a short-lasting off-white head. Intense aromas of lemon juice, sherbet lemons and pine. Full-on citrus, but multifaceted. A medium sourness dominates the taste buds, but a mild sweetness and a gentle bitterness are appreciable. Comes across as somewhat confused rather than balanced. Full body with a sticky texture that complements the sweet lemon aromas. Low carbonation and a surprisingly dry finish. Overall a worthwhile collaboration that certainly does what it sets out to do. Whether that works as an all-round beer is a different question.
