This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg.

Nja, väldigt citronig. Det kanske är meningen, och då har man väl lyckadats. I DIPA termer är väl den mer skum än god.

Palish lime yellow with no foam after a few seconds. The smell is south and a bit lemony fruity. The smell is sour on the tongue and sweetish in the throat. Very timid taste though, a bit lemony. The aftertaste is quite short as well. Nevertheless a pleasant taste in a very calm beer (taste and carbonation wise)

Yellow-even greenish color with small white head. Aroma is lemony and hoppy, but like - really lemony! Taste is again lemony, slightly sourish, nice! Great beer, something very different.

Draft at Olympic. From notes. Loads of lemon and citrus. Some weird lemonhead fake candy stuff in there too.

Poured into a taster glass showing cloudy dark honey brown with very slight white foam head. The nose shows a lot lemon and dry hops (pine, grapefruit, mango, pineapple) with some big grassy tones. The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. First impression shows off lemon flavors with the sharp IPA bitterness barely hiding in the background. Afterwards a slight sweetness mellows out a lot of the tartness. The finish is slightly astringent with a citric bitterness akin to grapefruit pulp. Very gentle bitterness. If I were to guess, the absolutely perfect balance of all the flavors is definitely a sign of Hill Farmstead whereas the intense dry hopping was probably Mikkeller. Definitely something out of the ordinary and worth trying at least once.

(Siren / Mikkeller / Hill Farmstead Limoncello (Lemon Cello) IPA) Bottle 330 ml from BenH, many thanks Ben for this one! Served into a tulip glass, ABV 9.1% Deep orange colour on a slightly cloudy body, with lazy activity in it and a small and somewhat white, thin head sitting on top. Good retention nevertheless, it leaves light lacing behind. Divine aroma, it does smells like limoncello, tons of citrus and lemon zest, fresh green lemon leaves. Very bitter taste, again brings to mind limoncello only much, much more bitter. Lemon zest, lemon leaves, lemon flowers, almost everything is lemon on this one and very bitter, like you’re chewing a lemon leave, with faint sugar on the back. Seems a bit too much at first but it’s easy to get used to it. Some alcohol notes as well. Medium thin body with good carbonation, oily on the palate. Very good!

This beer pours a slightly hazy straw golden color with a small white head that fades quickly to a ring. The aroma blends resin hops, lemon juice, lemon zest, and a hint of pale malts; the taste is mildly bitter, mildly sour, and a touch sweet with an aftertaste that is pure lemon juice and zest. The palate fuses an oily texture, medium-light body, and a soft carbonation.

33 cl bottle. BBE 04/2015.
Pours hazy pale golden color with a small head. Quite a fair amount of lemon and orange peel on the aroma of this one, subtle grassy notes, some spruce, mild juniper tones there too, herbs and floral hops. Tart lemon and grapefruits on the flavor, lingering and mouth-watering bitterness, some gooseberries on the finish. This is not a very fresh bottle so the hops are not at their best, lemon is clearly the dominant flavor, slightly off-balanced at that. Somewhat sourish palate, lingering lemony tart finish. A bit weird to be honest, doesn’t quite meet my expectations.

I’m not sure where to start, if I didn’t know this was an ipa it would take me some time to figure it out. Has a crisp sour flavor, mild hops. I think they nailed what they were going for. Definitely similar to a sipping lemon cello.

In bottiglia.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Lukaduke for sending. Clear golden Orange appearance with a cream colored head. Twangy lemon, gooey, tart, herbal, white grape aroma. Slight note of pinesol. Moderately high bitterness. Pretty strong on the booze. Some sweetness. Heavy chemical lemon flavor. Weird weird beer.
