Pours black with nice small mocha head. Burning pipe tobacco, charcoal, maybe a little skunk and some faint citrus offer an aroma that is original if not appealing. Body is fairly thin in first instance, it gathers some steam but is ultimately disappointing. Flavours are muddled and oppressed by a really repugnant growing roasted-malt (primarily coffee) bitterness which carries to the finish. Yuk, this really isn’t for me.

Deep, almost black pour with a tan, 1/2 inch thick persistent head. Looks great. Cocoa, roast, coffee, grapefruit aromas. Coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, then a nice piney, tropical fruit finish. Thumbs up

Poured from a bottle. Dark beer with good amount of off white head. I smell chocolate, hops and malts. Crisp to the taste and has a good body that warms you up. Leaves a light bitter taste lingering behind, begging you to take another sip. Perfect for winter time with heavy meals.

Pours black with a large light tan head. Nose shows cocoa, roasted malt, nutty notes and soft piny and spicy hops. More cocoa as a flavour along with coffee, caramel and toffee, very similar to tiramisu. Then there’s some more pine and a mildly hoppy bitter finish. Carbonation is a on the heavy side.

On tap @ de klomp. beige head almost black color. Fruity and sweet aroma. Lightly roasted. Pine, peach, coffee and caramel in good balance. Sweet dry taste that falls rather flat as the bitterness takes overhand. Roasted with fruits, pine mostly. Strong coffee like bitterness.
