Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, alcohol, roasted malt, and soy sauce, leading to a roasted finish.

Jan 2014 - Keg at Craft Clapham. Black with a small beige head. Smell - cheesy hops, caramel, soft dark malts. Body is medium, carbonation is pretty high initially but calms down over time. Taste - caramel, lemon, lime, ash, dark chocolate, roasted barley. Good, hoppy porter that comes across a bit like a black IPA. (3.8)

Feb 2014 - Keg at Cask P&K. I had to try this again because of the high ratings from other Ratebeerians - just to make sure. Black with a slowly dissipating brown head. Aroma - toned down - some liquorice, rye and caramel coming through. Body is medium, foamy. Taste is lemon peel and rye up front, rounded off with some dark malts, a nice level of sweetness. Itís like a dark chocolate and lemon tart. Background calpol. Very similar impression to last time, although maybe itís in slightly better condition here. Good. (3.9)

Keg Growler Fill from Cotteridge Wines, dark brown almost brown pour with smooth mocha head, dark fruity aroma, taste has raisins, dark cherries, and some sweet chocolate vanilla, really nice mouthfeel and a hint of smoke, excellent.

Back for a one off and only because this beer is so immense. Siren really know how to do this. Great brewer, great beer, dark and sticky and full. Thanks Cotteridge Wines for sticking it on a growler. See you next year.

tasted at the brewery tap, nice light white froth, very dark, very good subtle malt and chocolate flavours, the high ABV is very well balanced against a background of hop flavours, a easy drinkable and very good porter, not really bitter but with just enough astringency to keep it interesting right to the bottom of the glass

Keg in Craft Clapham. Opaque very dark murky chocolate brown, tan foam creamy head. Nose is sweet sugary rich silky caramel, dark chocolate, molasses, yeast extract (Marmite), black treacle . As it warms up thereís some ripe dark fruit, prune.Taste is dirty, salty, Marmite, yeasty, earthy. Waiting for it to warm up because right now itís surprisingly savoury considering it smelled so sweet. Got some black treacle coming through but itís very savoury, salty and yeasty. Ok itís warming up and the dark fruit is coming out. Prune, raisin, slight red wine vinous.
