Draught @ CBC2013. Pours hazy blackish brown with a rather small creamy offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is malty with roasted malts, oatmeal cookies, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge, roasted nuts and hints of alcohol and charred wood. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt cookies, caramel, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge, liquorice fudge, roasted nuts and hints of bourbon, hay, oatmeal cookies and prunes. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny roasted astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, soil, hay, burnt cookies, vanilla fudge, bourbon and burnt caramel. Solid stout…

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 1. Pours oily black with little head. Burnt wood nose with light vanilla notes. Medium to big sweet flavor, oily, with rich chocolate, light wood, some booze, moderate dark fruits. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with soft mocha notes, light woody dryness. No condition here, really. The general character is nice but with better conditioning the beer could be much better.
